DJ’S BERKELEY CAFÉ OPENS AT 38TH AND TENNYSON

The Berkeley neighborhood recently gained a unique new café, complete
with a full espresso bar and loose leaf teas, free wireless Internet access,
and a welcoming patio.  DJ’s Berkeley Café, located at 3838 Tennyson
Street, opened in August 2006 with a diverse menu that includes crab
cake eggs Benedict, omelets and scrambles, Irish steel cut oatmeal, grilled
sandwiches, fresh salads and more.

To create DJ’s Berkeley Café, entrepreneur brothers and Colorado natives
Jason and Devin Stallings extensively renovated the building adjacent to
the Berkeley Inn, which had previously been vacant.  The history of the
renovation can be found online at www.djscafe.blogspot.com.  Extensive
renovations resulted in a warm, convivial dining experience filled with the
character of the Berkeley neighborhood and the care and attention to
detail that comes with a family-owned business.  

“We wanted to offer freshly-made menu items and a comfortable place to
get-together in the neighborhood,” says Jason Stallings, co-owner of DJ’s
Berkeley Café.  The Stallings brothers used their decades of restaurant
experience and a passion for good food and coffee to create DJ’s Berkeley
Café from the ground up.  Devin Stallings, co-owner and chef of DJ’s
Berkeley Café, designed a menu filled with diverse choices and delectable
flavors.              

DJ’s Berkeley Café is open from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday through
Friday and from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for weekend brunch and dinner.  
Stop by on your way to work for a latte to go or linger over a relaxing meal
with friends and family.

DJ's Berkeley Café One of the things we love most about
DJ's is the neighborhood feel—the place positively bustles with
friends catching up, families dining with kids in tow, and young
couples planning their day's adventure. And then there are the huge
plates of airy pancakes (plain, blueberry, or banana-walnut) and Brie
scrambles with roasted red pepper, shallots, and crimini
mushrooms. Best of all, though, are the sunny yellow mugs that brim
